A very affable instructor, a nice budget-friendly accommodation, fresh seafood as well as an exceptional underwater experience. That sums up my scuba diving trip in Sabah last time.
I can easily say that this trip has been one of my best weeks of summer.
This time, I went diving with another two of my Sheffield university friends, Hasfa and Azim. Just like my previous diving trip with Munir and Fazril in Redang Island, I prefer to include a course in the trip. Both of them were taking the Open Water Diving Certification while I upgraded my advance license to Rescue and Emergency First Response (EFR).
We spent the first half of the week completing the course and the other half enjoying fun dives. Most of the day we had around three dives to complete all the practical section and did the theory at night. We are so lucky to have Karl as our instructor. Indeed, a very experienced and friendly guy.
Since we stayed in Arung Hayat Resort which is located in Mabul Island, we did most part of the course in dive sites around Mabul. Then, we had a few fun dives in Kapalai and spent one whole day in Sipadan. The best part was, we are not being charged for the fun dives in Mabul since we somehow did the fun dives and courses simultaneously. On the last day, we has the opportunity to dive in Sipadan with Uncle John’s trip that cost us RM 750 for 3 dives in a day. It sounds expensive, but it was more than worth it.
Thanks Pasha and Azim for the unforgettable memories.
Let’s have a look at the not-so-beautiful-pictures that we took. Sorry for that, I lost my red filter in one of the dives.
